MVV Environment launch new intranet in 2 weeks
We are delighted to announce that MVV Environment has chosen Sorce to create its new intranet.
MVV Environment provides sustainable and efficient solutions for waste-fired energy generation to waste disposal companies and local authorities. The company employs 150 employees across 3 major sites.
When the coronavirus pandemic started, MVV had a simple WordPress intranet in place which was not meeting its needs. As a result, companywide emails were relied upon to communicate with staff, but many employees were not reading the emails being sent.
During the pandemic, some support staff were working from home, but the majority of staff are key workers and were still working onsite. MVV wanted something to help keep in touch with its workforce, many of whom were not regular or confident IT users.
Sorce worked with MVV to implement a new intranet from start to finish in 2 weeks. The project was kicked-off on the 3rd April and the site went live on 17th April.
Onsite staff primarily use the Engage mobile app to access the site and even their least confident IT users were able to access new intranet quickly and easily from their own phones.
The initial site was focused on communications around the pandemic, but soon became a site that included engaging content and features. A photography competition was even carried out on the site in its second week and proved to be very popular.
The initial intranet team has grown quickly and several people are now regularly adding content to the site. The feedback from employees was very positive from day one and the company immediately wanted to make the solution a permanent fixture.
MVV Environment’s HR Manager, Sheena McLullich said “our new Intranet has made a huge difference to the way we communicate with all our employees and has made everything so much easier. Most importantly we can now engage with our entire workforce rather than just telling them something and hoping they read the email”.
